Sanskrit Wisdom - 47

Varam eko guNee putro na cha moorkhashataanyapi |
ekashchandrastamo hanti na cha taaraagaNopi cha ||

varM ekao gauNaI pu~ao na ca maUK-Satanyaip a
ekSMcad`stmaao hint na ca taragaNaao|ip ca aa

Explanation
It is preferable to have one good (gunvat) son than to have a hundred foolish (murkha) ones. One single moon effectively removes darkness, for instance, which the multitude of stars cannot.
